Dr. Simon is a board-certified diplomate of the American Board of Urology and fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Simon practices all aspects of urology with a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and voiding problems.
Dr. Simon was born and raised in Chicago and remains a huge Bears, White Sox and Blackhawks fan.
Dr. Simon attended the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana where he graduated with honors with a BS degree in Psychology. He then matriculated to Rush University Medical Center in Chicago (which earned a top 20 spot for Best Hospitals in U.S. News & World Report) where he graduated in the top 10% of his medical school class and was elected to the distinguished Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
After finishing medical school, Dr. Simon completed his 2 year internship in general surgery followed by a 4 year residency in Urology at Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. He then completed his training with a fellowship in laparoscopic surgery at the prestigious Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Simon started practice at La Jolla Urology in 2005. He is affiliated with Scripps La Jolla Memorial Hospital where he is Chairman of Urology.
Dr. Simon is an avid sports fan. In his free time, Dr. Simon trains athletes in the mental aspect of performance. He has been actively involved with the San Diego State Aztecs men's basketball team for the last 7 years. He enjoys spending time with his family when he is not working.
